The Management Council organized a Fellowship Night 2023 for members’ on 28th November 2023. The function was also to welcome new members who had just joined the Majlis upon conferment of the Datoship by T.Y.T. Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang during the investiture ceremony held in October 2023.
The fellowship night cum welcome dinner was held at the Laurel Ballroom of Evergreen Laurel Hotel. More than 180 members and invited guests attended the event where the Guest-of-Honour was Y.A.B. Chief Minister of Penang Tuan Chow Kon Yeow and Y.A.Bhg. Puan Tan Lean Kee. Other VVIPs who were invited were the Deputy Chief Ministers I & II, the State Secretary, State Executive Council members (EXCO), Mayors of both the City Councils, Senior High Court Judge and former EXCO members and their spouses.
The guests and members were entertained by a band performance where the 2 singers from the Philippines rendered some local and international hit songs. A local dance group also entertained the crowd with a few cultural dances.
The shows mesmerised the audience whose eyes were glued to the stage!
Guests were served with a sumptuous international themed buffet dinner.
A surprise birthday cake was arranged to celebrate the birthday of Tuan Chow Kon Yeow whose birthday falls in November. Joining him were the Majlis Pengurusan members and other members whose birthday fall in November.
The President presented a souvenir to our Guest-of-Honour which was a ‘Crystal Horse’ in a transparent glass case which signifies ‘Strength’. Y.A.Bhg Puan Tan Lean Kee was presented a special gift of preserved Red Roses in a heart-shaped souvenir.
The newly admitted members of the Majlis were also presented their membership kits comprising car badges, lapel pin and membership card as well as a certificate.
The guests and members enjoyed the evening with the entertainment and meeting new & old friends, some of whom they had not met in a long time.
Members were charged RM150 to attend the event, whereas new members were invited.
